I’d like to welcome you to my blog. There are a few different areas in my life that I’m passionate about and post about on this blog, so I’ve organized them by categories for easy reference on the right.

In the Public Policy category, you’ll find my views on the political arena and legislative or regulatory initiatives; in the Education category, my thoughts and comments relating to education approaches and happenings; the Self Defense category includes my commentary relating to the critical area of personal self defense and defensive tactics; and then finally there is the Other Interesting Things category where there are miscellaneous tidbits that I think you may find interesting (as I did).

One important point. My posts in various areas – particularly related to Education – are many times aspiration or introspection about what might be possible in an ideal world. They are not meant to create a standard against which judgment should be levied. Performance of any institution in this less than ideal world can only fairly be measured against other institutions serving the same ends. If this were not the case, no parenting expert with children would ever write a book for fear of being judged completely incompetent. And that would not be to society’s benefit. (Not that I am an expert in anything, but you get the point.)
